Batter up I believe the phrase goes,well I'm not much when it comes to playing ball but I am getting anxious about the new ball field being started. The work has begun but we are a long ways off from being done. I believe in doing all things for the glory of God, and if we are doing it for the Lord then it must be done right. God will use the sports of the church to win the lost if we do the best we can—God will do the rest.
The Word of God tells us:
Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ.
I believe that we must use every tool that we can to win the lost. The pavillion and the out doors services this summer will be a blessing, and help some of the members to see how important the Sunday evening services are to the church and family. Again God says in His Word to us, the Christians, to follow his Word.
Ex 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor the maid servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
I know that some people will say that we are no longer under the law of the Old Testament, but under grace, but this is one of the Ten Commandments. Not one of the ten suggestions. Follow God's Word from beginning to end and you will live a much happier life.
